Hopkins asking for rematch against Dawson 12BEt update 10/22

With the WBC giving back 46-year-old Bernard Hopkins his WBC light heavyweight title on Thursday after ruling that his fight with Chad Dawson was a technical draw instead of the original ruling of a 2nd round knockout, Hopkins now wants a rematch with Dawson to try and prove that he’s the better man.

Hopkins looked bad during the two rounds of action, which ended when Hopkins fell over the back of Dawson and was bucked off by him. Hopkins hit the deck and injured his left shoulder during the fall. Some of Hopkins’ fans think the injury was legit, while a lot of other boxing fans still think Hopkins took the easy way out by flopping.
Here’s what Hopkins had to say on his twitter account: “Thanks to the WBC and Ring Magazine for making the right decision, California Athletic Commission will follow through and make it a no contest. I want a rematch to prove I am the man and Chad Dawson ain’t s*** but a sucker!. Chad talked all that s*** after the fight was stopped. I hit that ho with a body shot and I heard the air come out of him…A quitter? An actor? Come on I would be KO’d first.”

Hopkins went on to make comments about Antonio Tarver and James Toney, both of who questioned Hopkins’ resolve in the fight.

Dawson is already planning on fighting a rematch with Jean Pascal, so Hopkins is going to have to wait a while. - http://www.boxingnews24.com
