Australian Open Novak Djokovic (SRB) vs Rafael Nadal (ESP) ATP

Yet when the final rolled around, he beat Federer - who had an extra day to rest - in five sets that reduced the usually composed Swiss player to tears. Now a weary Djokovic has less than 48 hours to prepare to face Nadal, one of the most fit players in the game.

SBW's 'handshake agreement' the biggest surprise

Sonny Bill Williams revealed his plans to get out of NZ rugby today. Photo / Getty ImagesSonny Bill Williams has been accused of many things during his sporting career. Possessing a finely-honed sense of irony is not one of them.
But the most remarkable admission during today's widely-predicted announcement in Hamilton that he would return to the NRL in Australia via a lucrative stint in Japanese club rugby was that he was honouring a "handshake agreement''.
Williams, 26, said he didn't want to leave the All Blacks and the Chiefs, his table-topping Super Rugby team, but felt compelled to do so.
There was speculation that, with All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster in attendance, Williams had pencilled an agreement with the New Zealand Rugby Union to return in 2014, but he denied that today, as did Foster.
"One day I would love to come back but in saying that I'm not going to hold my breath because there are some great players here coming through who deserve all that they get,'' Williams said. "I've chosen my path and now I've got to walk it.
"I didn't think I would love it as much as I have here. To be honest, I feel I've found my place here at the Chiefs, with the boys, but it just goes back to I've given someone my word.

This was a while ago and I've had to go on with that, even though it's tough.''
This appears to be a different Sonny Bill Williams who walked out on the Canterbury Bulldogs for a rugby gig in Toulon, France, in 2008, only months after signing a long-term contract. That broken agreement, which resulted in a five-year ban from the NRL, was the last time he agreed to such deals. Now he and his controversial manager Khoder Nasser negotiate only one-year contracts. They feel it stops Williams for being taken for granted and drives up his value.
The handshake agreement was made before Williams joined Canterbury in his successful bid to make the All Blacks. Having secured a foothold on rugby during his time in Christchurch - he made the All Blacks' end of year tour after his handful of games for Canterbury in 2010 - he continued to make his mark with the Crusaders last year before taking his game to a new level with his move to Hamilton and the Chiefs.

Williams, who played 17 tests in an All Black career which included winning the World Cup, is a near certainty to join the Sydney Roosters after his 12-game stint with the Panasonic Wild Knights which is believed to be worth about $1.5 million. He will not play for the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship which starts in August.
Williams added: "It's a pretty difficult situation, but I just have to make the most of it. If all things go well I will be playing league next year. I can't start that with this [regret] at the back of my mind, I've got to start fresh and give it my all.''
Flanked by Chiefs coaches Dave Rennie and Wayne Smith, Williams showed his emotions as he reflected on his All Blacks career and time at the franchise.
Rennie said: "There's an impression that Sonny is bigger than the team or bigger than the game but Sonny is very much one of the boys and he is certainly loved by his teammates.''
Smith, a former All Blacks assistant coach who took Williams under his wing at the national team, said: "I've really seen Sonny develop over the last two or three years and wherever he goes, they're going to be incredibly lucky. He's shown ability to come up to an immense level really in a quick time in a sport he didn't know much about.''
Williams, the New Zealand heavyweight title holder, will probably box again in November - during the Panasonic season - and indicated he could return to the country of his birth.
"If I ever came back to New Zealand rugby I'd definitely come back to the Chiefs. Even if there was no money here I'd come back for free.''

Boxing promoter Bob Arum supports Victor Conte's push for better drug testing

When Marlon Byrd was hit with a 50-game suspension by Major League Baseball almost two weeks ago, Victor Conte's critics immediately tried to link him to the positive test, since he has worked with Byrd for the last three years. Conte, who provides training and nutrition advice to several players, immediately denied any involvement in Byrd's positive test for Tamoxifen, and pointed to the efforts of the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency he steers his clients to for year-round, extensive drug testing. Byrd himself issued a statement saying Conte had nothing to do with his ingestion of Tamoxifen, which he said he used for a personal medical condition.
Conte has encouraged one of his top clients, the boxer Nonito Donaire, who will fight Jeffrey Mathebula at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., Saturday, to embrace an extensive testing regime, and Donaire has agreed to year-round random testing by VADA, meaning he can be tested any time, any place, for banned substances.
On Tuesday, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said at a press conference that he supports Conte's work with Donaire and his push for comprehensive drug testing in boxing.
"I think that Victor Conte has a big influence on (Nonito) and I really believe that Victor really wants to have good testing now," Arum told reporters. "People point out Victor's background which was certainly there but I think that Victor is a reformed guy. And for me, nobody knows what they are talking about more than Conte does. He really knows the subject. And his idea is to have boxing be a clean sport without all this demagoguery that goes on.
"I mean, what's going on, managers don't know what they are talking about; trainers don't know what they are talking about. I mean, Julio Chavez Jr., in his last fight, had to go to the bathroom and he delayed giving his urine sample until a little later. So the production assistant from HBO, when asked why they were taking so long, said (Chavez) hadn't given his urine sample, which of course, HBO talked about. But the fact is, a few minutes later, (Chavez) gave his urine sample and it was tested by the Texas Athletic Commission and it was negative. (Lee's trainer) Emanuel Steward is now talking about how (Chavez) was so strong when he fought Andy Lee. (Speaking as Steward) 'Who knows if he gave a urine sample?' That's nonsense. You can't do that innuendo stuff. You gotta operate with facts."

12BET Casino Beach Life

PAYLINES
Active paylines are represented by lines that appear over the reels. You can activate paylines and see their shape by progressively clicking the BET button.

Please note: You only win if a combination occurs on an active payline, and is made up of consecutive symbols starting from the leftmost reel. The Scatter symbol is an exception to that rule. Read more about the Scatter symbol below.

Please note: There is a difference between the line bet and the total bet. The line bet shows how much you're betting on a single payline. The total bet shows how much you're spending in this game round. The payouts shown in the paytable are multiplied by the coin size, not the line bet. If you get winning combinations on more than one payline, the winnings for each payline are added up.

ABOUT PAYOUTS
Payouts are listed on the Paytable screen. To find the possible win amount, multiply the coin size by the payout. If two winning combinations occur on the same line, the higher of them is paid out. If more than one active payline has a winning combination, the winnings are added up.

The Wild symbol can stand for any other (except Scatter and Bonus), to make the best possible winning combination. There is also a separate payout for several Wild symbols on an active payline.

American Roulette Table Games

AMERICAN ROULETTE RULES
There are many different ways to place roulette bets in American Roulette. Each bet covers a different set of numbers and has a different distribution, as shown in the "Winnings Table" section. We offer double-zero roulette -- with 0 and 00 -- for more betting options.

  • STRAIGHT UP – You can bet on any number, including 0 or 00, by placing the chip on the center of a number. The maximum bet for this wager is indicated on the Roulette table (see the Max sign).
  • SPLIT BET – You can bet on two numbers by placing a chip on the line that divides the two numbers. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by two.
  • STREET BET – To bet on a row of three numbers (a street), place a chip on the boundary line of the roulette table, at the end of the corresponding row. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by three.
  • CORNER BET – You can bet on four numbers by placing chips at the corner where the four numbers meet. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by four.
  • FIVE BET – You can bet on the numbers 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3 by placing your chip on the boundary line, where the line between 0 and the first row intersects it. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by five.
  • LINE BET – You can bet on two street bets (i.e., the six different numbers in two rows of three numbers), by placing your chip on the boundary line of the roulette table where the line dividing the two rows intersects it. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by six.
  • COLUMN BET – There are three boxes labelled "2 to 1" at the bottom of each column of numbers. You can place bets for all numbers in a column by placing chip(s) in one of these boxes. If any of the numbers in the selected column is hit you get paid 2:1. 0 and 00 are losing numbers. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by ten.
  • DOZEN BET – You can bet on a group of twelve numbers by placing your chip in one of the three boxes marked "1st 12," "2nd 12," or "3rd 12." If one of your 12 numbers is hit, you are paid 2:1. 0 and 00 are losing numbers. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by ten.
  • RED/BLACK, EVEN/ODD, LOW/HIGH BETS – You can place a bet in one of the boxes along the long side of the table that covers half of the numbers on the roulette table (excluding 0). Each box covers 18 numbers. You win even money (1 to 1) on all of these bets; 0 and 00 are losing numbers. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum, multiplied by 20.

Canberra Raiders v St George Illawarra Dragons

Canberra Stadium, Monday 5pm (GMT+8)

Round 20 2011 - Raiders 24 bt Dragons 19 at Canberra Stadium

12BET.COM
TAB Sportsbet:
Raiders 2.4 Dragons 1.530
FootyTab: Raiders +4.5

Greg Prichard writes: The Raiders have built a tremendous record against the Dragons over the years, at all venues. They have won the last six clashes between the two teams, including four at Canberra Stadium. This is when the Raiders traditionally do their best work - playing at home, at night, and in the middle of winter. The Raiders have got a lot of players out injured. The Dragons don’t score a lot of points.

AAP writes: The Dragons have not beaten the Raiders in Canberra for 12 years and have won just a single match from their past 14 against the green machine. Neither will be fielding a full-strength side due to Origin commitments and injury, with Josh Dugan the Raiders’ most notable loss. Utility Shaun Berrigan and forward Joel Thompson could make a return this weekend if they prove their fitness.
